9/7/06 - CrossRoads Expands Service Support with 25,000 s/f Facility

News release

CrossRoads RV expands service
support with 25,000-square-foot facility

TOPEKA, Ind. — CrossRoads RV has made a major commitment to dealer and customer support with the recent opening of a new 25,000-square-foot Customer Care Service Center in Topeka.

CrossRoads is a rapidly growing company that makes travel trailers, fifth wheels and sport utility trailers. While many of CrossRoads’ dealers are well-equipped to handle a variety of repairs, the service center provides an additional level of support and expertise for dealers facing difficult structural problems and repairs they don’t usually perform. In addition, the staff collectively handles parts orders, warranty paperwork and consumer calls.

The facility also includes dedicated space for suppliers who, as needed, can easily access units to make repairs on their components.

“We’re very proactive about customer satisfaction,” said Mark Lucas, president of CrossRoads. “We believe that if we service the dealer well, we ultimately service the consumer well. This facility is designed to help the dealer speed repairs, ensure quality repairs, and get the customer back on the road as quickly as possible.”

“The service center became a priority because of our rapid growth in recent years,” said Lucas. “We made 1,347 fifth wheels and travel trailers in all of ’03. We made almost twice that many in the first six months of this year. We’ve gone from two product lines in ’03 to seven now; from 70 employees in the same year to more than 425 now. Our sales have doubled in each of the last two years and will double again this year.

“The fact is, we’ve managed to build some innovative, quality products that have taken off in the marketplace. We see this service center as the kind of investment we have to make to stay on top of the service demands of our growing market share. The younger RV buyer, especially, is demanding a quality service experience as well as a quality product, and every RV company and dealership needs to address that.”

Lucas added that CrossRoads’ dealer support extends beyond the service center. “CrossRoads pays dealers weekly for inspections and warranty claims at posted labor rates. We immediately resolve product issues, we don’t leave them hanging. Get it done and get the customer on the way is what we say.

“Dealers also appreciate the detailed fit and finish of the product that’s delivered to them. Our dealers know their inspection time and setup time is minimal, if at all. We have one of the best warranties in the industry and any dealer will tell you that we back it up.”

The new service center has a staff of 12, which include Randy Niesen, vice president of customer care; Randy Mishler, parts and service manager, with three full-time service technicians; Alicia Kennedy, customer service manager, with two full-time customer service representatives; Sandy Searfoss, customer service manager, with two full-time customer service representatives; and a receptionist.

Tours of the service center and CrossRoads’ manufacturing facilities are available. For more information call 888-226-7496 or visit www.crossroadsrv.com.

9/7/06 - SMI Introduces Air Force One Towed Vehicle Brake

“The Best of Both Worlds”

Air+Vacuum = proportional, effective, and gentle.  Air Force One activates the power-assisted brake system in the towed vehicle by utilizing the coach's air supply to achieve truly proportionate braking. Air Force One energizes the car's power brakes with a patented process that requires NO MOVING PARTS or vacuum pump. Proportional, vacuum-assisted braking with “zero” tow-ready setup time; braking the way it was meant to be.

“Effective yet Invisible”

Air Force One is so compact that you will never know it is there! The cylinder mounts on the brake arm above the foot pad so you never know that it is even installed. Since Air Force One energizes the car's power brakes, the actuator is very small and mounts completely out of sight. The small cable attaches directly to the towed vehicle's firewall with a self tapping screw.

“Total Coach Protection”

Protecting the coach air supply is critical, especailly in the event of a breakaway. Air Force One is the ONLY unit on the market that provides “Total Coach Protection.” With the patent pending process, Air Force One seals the coach air supply in the event of a catastrophic event.

Simple Installation

• Requires No Moving Parts or Vacuum Pump

• Uses Towed Vehicle Power Brakes Without a Pump

• Towed Vehicle Truly Mirrors the Coach's Brakes

• Actuator Fits in the Palm of Your Hand

• “Total Coach Protection” Breakaway System

• Completely Out of Sight

9/6/06 - Fleetwood RV Launches New 2007 Fiesta LX and Terra LX

RIVERSIDE, Calif., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Fleetwood RV, a leading manufacturer of recreational vehicles, today announced the launch of its brand new 2007 Fiesta LX and Terra LX Class A gas motor home models. The high-value, competitively priced 2007 LX models include high-end features like full-body paint, pass-through storage and 22.5" wheels.

"After several months of research and testing, the idea for the LX models was conceived and put into action in December 2005," said Chris Braun, Executive Vice President of Fleetwood RV. "With the rise in gas prices and interest rates, consumers are looking more closely at RVs with lower price tags. In response to this marketplace demand, we loaded the Fiesta LX and Terra LX models with features you would expect to find at a higher price point, like full-body paint, but kept the price near $100,000. Now customers have a high-value option to consider."

Enabling the increased and pass-through storage capacity on the Terra LX and Fiesta LX models is the Power Platform Plus -- an offshoot of the Power Platform -- built on either Ford or Workhorse chassis.

The exterior of the LX models is highlighted by the stylized front and rear caps and standard full-body paint with three color scheme and graphic options. Interior features include Flexsteel(R) furniture, an entertainment system with 24" TV, large dinette, Dometic(R) 8 C.U. FT. refrigerator, and optional convection oven.

The Fiesta LX and Terra LX models' three floor plan options come standard with 5,000 lb towing capacity, Onan(R) 4.0 KW generators and exterior patio awning.

9/04/06 - 2007 Leprechaun by Coachmen

IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 4, 2006

Coachmen’s Leprechaun® Class C is rich with features In Irish legend, a leprechaun can lead you to a pot of gold. In the world of RVs, the Leprechaun® Class C motorhome is your pot of gold. Coachmen RV created the Leprechaun to be the ideal motorhome for the experienced RVer wanting more.

Walk around a Leprechaun and the first thing you will notice — aside from its striking good looks — is the huge amount of outside storage. The model 317 KS boasts an amazing 143 cubic feet of exterior storage — about the same as a longbed pickup truck. Now, taking all your toys on trips is no problem. Storage is accessible through the upgraded baggage doors with paddle latches, and to make it even more convenient, the slide-out storage moves in and out with the slideroom for easy access.

The Leprechaun’s bold paint scheme complements the redesigned perimeter rear cap with LED running lights. The super-bright LED lights last longer and use less voltage than standard lights. The patio entertainment center with remote control makes tailgating and camping even more fun.

Two unique floorplans, the 317 KS and 318 DS, make the Leprechaun perfect for RV enthusiasts. Both are based on a Ford chassis with a 6.8L engine that delivers 305 horsepower and 420 lb. ft. of torque. That’s plenty of power to get you to the ultimate getaway.

The redesigned fiberglass running boards now offer a wider step area — one of the widest in the industry, making it easier to enter the well-appointed cab. Once inside, one of the first things you will notice is the snaplock headliner. Coachmen leads the industry in utilizing these molded plastic pieces to replace fabric ceiling covers that can rip or sag over time.

The dash radio comes with an integrated back up monitor. It is Sirius, GPS and side camera ready.

Leprechaun is an upscale Class C at a great price with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $87,393. Coachmen makes buying the coach a breeze with three easy steps. One: choose your interior color scheme from Bronzeville Haven, Mint Julep or Santa Cruz Sage — and two: the cabinetry, Brazilian Cherry or Welbeck Birch.

One final decision — the entertainment center. Leprechaun comes equipped with a 20-inch LDC television and CD player, but Coachmen gives you an option of a 26-inch LDC television with a DVD player and a Bose® Wave radio sound system. This fits in the cabover section, but even with the 26-inch television, you still have room for a single pullout bed.

The living area is spacious and inviting. Its upscale features include raised panel cabinet doors, plush short shag carpet, designer lighting and stainless steel style appliances. Full extension drawer guides make for easy access to stored items. Skylights in the living area brighten the coach, and the redesigned all-in-one command center allows you to easily monitor all coach functions.

The bedroom is designed to help you relax and get a good night’s sleep. The bed is a residential-sized 60-inch by 80-inch queen so residential-sized sheets and blankets fit. The wardrobe closet is cedar lined to keep your clothes smelling fresh.

Coachmen’s Leprechaun Class C motorhome is rich in the features that make camping, tailgaiting and RVing fun. It is the “pot o’ gold” when it comes to being part of the RV community.
