Last Review Posted Natural Tunnel SP Cove View Campground
This is one of my favorite campgrounds. We camphost here during May and August, so I tend to be a little biased towards the park. There are lots of activities available at/through the park from swimming in the large pool, hiking on the trails, wading in the creek near the tunnel on your own. The park offers guided tours with kayaking, canoeing, canorkeling (canoe trip with snorkeling), cave tours, some full-moon hikes and then hayrides and welcome campfire on Friday and other nights during the summer season. There is lots of history in the area and the park offers historical re-enactments at their Block House. They also offer star-gazing with professors from a nearby university throughout the summer camping season. This is the place to go if you just want to sit outside in the shade and enjoy the quiet or to have activities that are planned for you during your stay. Cove View Campground is good for smaller (less than 32') in length. The campground was designed in the 60's and has all pull-thru sites, but is not really appropriate for the larger RV now. Each site is gravel with a gravel picnic pad. Each site also has a fire pit located near your site in the grass. There are lots of small trees that offer shade during the hot summer. The bath house is older, but is kept immaculately clean throughout the day by the park staff. There are also 4 yurts that have been built within this campground that will sleep 4 people with a queen bed, a twin trundle and a couch.
