Description:

Beautiful Campground right inside Capitol Reef. The entrance is through a wonderful orchard of fruit blossoming trees. You're even allowed to pick the fruit for yourself, when in season.
The hiking and views are just incredible throughout the entire area!
Is is adjacent to the Visitor Center on Rt 24, just East of Torrey. There is even a tiny store that sells fruit pies from the orchards - WOW!!! They are delicious!!!

It's actually called Fruita Campground and they have a dump site with potable water but no hookups. It is a "first come, first get the site" campground and the sites fill up quickly so get there early. Many campers park in a couple of roadside spots if the campground is full and then drive into the campground early in the morning and "cruise for sites".Sites are level and require minimal leveling. Pet friendly. My Wife and I stayed there for 2 nights in Sept 2010. We paid $5 per night with our Interagency Senior Pass (the new name for the Golden Age Passport).
