Description: This is a huge state park with a large campground, lodge & conference center, cottages, 18-hold golf course, 2900 acre lake & marina. It's located a few miles east of I-77.

The campground has several different sections with shaded & open sites, as well as an equestrian section. There are about 20 fhu sites, the rest are electric only. All have 20/30/50amp, a picnic table & fire ring. Water is available throughout the campground.

There's a big beach with showers, lockers & snack bar. Near the beach is a mini-golf course, nature center (open during summer) & basketball court.

The park has more than a dozen trails for hiking & horseback riding, & the camproads are great for biking.

This park is very popular, especially in summer & fall so reservations are highly recommended.

Review Date: Thu April 14, 2011 Would you recommend the campground? Yes | Price you paid?: $32.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Spacious sites, large clean beach, lots of trails, resort lodge ammenities
Cons: Crowded during peak seasons, level sites not always "level", no pull thrus

Price paid reflects fhu 50a site, discounted with Cardinal Camper Card (discontinued in 2008). I would've rated it higher if they had more fhu sites.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.
