Beautiful County park on Tampa Bay, lots of waterfront sites, very tropical setting. Roads are narrow and can be tricky

This is a beautiful park located on an island in Tampa bay, owned by the county. Very nicely laid out, each space is seperated by hedges, The Bathrooms are very nice and the CG is enormous. It has the entire island. They have about 30 boat ramps and ample parking, two fishing piers, bike trails, roller blade trails, surf as well as pier fishing. You go right thru St pete to get to the park.. nice drive. Rank this park about a 9.5 on a 10 pt scale. Highly rec you make rsves before you go. s/Toby

Stayed at this CG in September 2011. Entire family loved it. (wife, daughter, son in law, 5 grand kids). Our 40' motor home sleeps 9 without a shoe horn but we had to rent 2 (TWO) sites due to a restriction on the number of campers per site. 4 nights w/ two sites for $331.00 I guess large families are out of style.
With that and no sewer my rating is still a 10. Navigating through the roads and watching your every move was a positive treat. Backing into our site required our communication skills to be in full bloom. We had to do that twice (had to drain the tanks once too). Since the MH had to be moved, we decided to take it to the beach parking lot for a day. That worked out real well too. Lunch and nap for the little one without any hassles going back to the CG.
The family loved the waterside lot and the birds and animals that it attracted. You need to experience this CG and this awesome beach. The showers and bath rooms were clean. The laundry was well maintained.
