Description: In the heart of PA Dutch country. Diesel and gas are within a mile or two. The CG has a stream running through it and an Amish farm next door. Sites are next to the farm or the stream. There are also sites on pavement in the center of the CG. Buggy rides are available on Saturday's. There is a very clean pool and small playground. The historic covered brodge is closed, for repairs. The historic grist mill is worth walking through.

Pros: camp in the local environment (stream or farm), CG is clean and well maintained
Cons: CG store staff is not very friendly

Stream, farm, trees or no trees, there are choices at this CG. The CG is quiet and clean. The pool is very clean and the Amish atmosphere is everywhere. Big rigs can manuver with ease. It is an easy in and out to the main road.

Pros: Easy to get to, central to Amish country, shady riverside sites
Cons: FHU paved pull thrus are a former parking lot section & have no shade, kind of pricey,

Nice camground located just off route 30 in the heart of Amish country. It contains a historic grist mill & recreated little village. An Amish farm is right next door and the children come over to sell wares & food items. Sites were of average size and there were plenty of shaded spots; either grass or paved. We were in a site (Canary) beside the stream that I thought was one of the more spacious sites and was beautifully shaded. The pool (new in 2005) was clean but small; no lifeguard on duty. There was a snackshop and a nice camp store. The fhu pull throughs sound nice from the website, but they're paved just because they're the former parking lot in front of the office that they ran electric, water and sewer hookups to. It's basically like parking in a WalMart parking lot with full hook-ups. No trees & a lot of dust from the constant check-in/out traffic. In my opinion, these aren't an improvement. However, we did enjoy our stay, there was a lot to do in the immediate area, and would recommend this campground.

Pros: Close to many area attractions, clean, quiet
Cons: Some sites are an old parking lot, but we were in a shaded area with real grass

We had driven past this campground many times when we were in the area since we make it a habit to visit Lancaster at least once a year. We've also been trying to stay at a different place each trip. Since we were going to Sight & Sound theater we figured this would be a good choice since it's only a few minutes away. It's quiet and clean and that's basically what we look for. Most of the sites are easy in & out. We had a 35' Class A at the time and that was no problem. We'll probably go back some time in the future
