Description: Located North of Wilmington on Rt 17. This is a nice CG. Sites are both trees or no trees. Everything is flat and level. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The CG is quiet, clean, well maintained and well run. There is a pool and large playground. Big rigs can manuver easily. The CG is an easy in and out for Rt 17S. For RT 17N it can be a challenge.

Pros: clean, quiet, well run and maintained
Cons: left turn (North) leaving the CG can be a challenge

We stayed here 2 nights in June of 06. The bottom line is I would stay here again. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpfull and friendly. It is close to the Battleship memorial.

Pros: Great facilities, welcoming staff, close to main roadway
Cons: not on the waterfront, close to main roadway (sound)

This is a really nice campground, especially if you are looking for a quiet little corner of the Wilmington area. On 17N about :15 from both the beach and historic downtown Wilmington, it offers a great place to stay when hitting the beach or the downtown. A nice playground and pool help give the kids something to do while there as well. We've stayed there a number of times, and surely will again. I'd like something on the water (ocean or intercoastal) if I'm headed to the beach, for fishing and kayaking, which is the only main drawback for me. When I get in the mood for this, I head to the New Bern KOA, owned by the same great folks.

Pros: Very friendly staff, very clean, nice pool. Close to beaches
Cons: Busy highway 17 use caution entering and exiting the property

Overall a great place to spend a few days to spend relaxing or going to the beach.

Pros: Quite, affordable
Cons:

This was our second visit to this campground. There were plenty of families there with children, mostly under 14 years old I'd say. They were all so well behaved! The CG was quite and other campers were very friendly. Made some new friends as we normally do. The only thing I was disappointed in - When we arrived on Sunday afternoon (around 5pm) it was obvious the grass had not been mowed. These are flat sites covered with a very fine crushed white rock and grass beyond the drive-up and patio areas. When I opened my slides the grass was almost up to my wheel moldings. We left the following Sunday, never once heard a lawn mower. Surprised me.... But, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
