This is a really nice campground, especially if you are looking for a quiet little corner of the Wilmington area. On 17N about :15 from both the beach and historic downtown Wilmington, it offers a great place to stay when hitting the beach or the downtown. A nice playground and pool help give the kids something to do while there as well. We've stayed there a number of times, and surely will again. I'd like something on the water (ocean or intercoastal) if I'm headed to the beach, for fishing and kayaking, which is the only main drawback for me. When I get in the mood for this, I head to the New Bern KOA, owned by the same great folks.

This was our second visit to this campground. There were plenty of families there with children, mostly under 14 years old I'd say. They were all so well behaved! The CG was quite and other campers were very friendly. Made some new friends as we normally do. The only thing I was disappointed in - When we arrived on Sunday afternoon (around 5pm) it was obvious the grass had not been mowed. These are flat sites covered with a very fine crushed white rock and grass beyond the drive-up and patio areas. When I opened my slides the grass was almost up to my wheel moldings. We left the following Sunday, never once heard a lawn mower. Surprised me.... But, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
