Beautiful landscaping. Reminded me of a Disney Resort , Features not found at other campgrounds such as an RV/boat wash and a 'Rivah Cruz', More cable channels than I have ever seen at any other campground.

Cons:

It's big. Over 1200 sites. About half are full timers, rental cottages and seasonal sites. And they have the choice sites right at the confluence of Robinson Creek and the Rappahannock River, The bathhouses are in serious need of remodeling.

Here is my review of Beth Page Camp, Urbanna, VA. We arrived Thursday evening after more electrical related toad issues, which were fixed by our local installer (loose ground in umbilical cord) . The drive along US17 east of Fredericksburg, VA was beautiful. Hardly any traffic. The campground was only 50% full on Thursday night. On Friday we went fishing, swimming, played mini golf and explored the nearby towns. On Saturday we went to a car show and took a river cruise. The campground never got above 70% full, probably due to the heat. The RV thermometer registered a high of 100 on Friday and 102 on Saturday. As far as the crowded conditions voiced by some of our fellow VA campers, yes that is an issue during times like Memorial Day, 4th of July, the Urbanna Oyster Festival in August and Labor Day, according to employees that I talked to. The key is to go there during non peak times. We had a good time and may go to their sister campground Grey's Point next year.
It was a bit noisy on Saturday night but it was also entertaining to see the throngs of people on Main ST in their tricked out golf carts. This is a different animal than a state park or national forest campground. As long as one realizes this and camps at the right time I think a nice experience can be had.

Love this campground!
It is both my and the kids favorite campground we have been to.
It is my wife's second favorite. (we will get back to that)
I love the large sites, the pool area, pond, immense area to walk the dogs, nearby ice cream vendor, and even the nightlife i.e. golf cart parade!
The staff is extremely pleasant and when checking in security will take you to your site. We also satyed there during a car show and I must admit I was actually a bit impressed by the cars that attended.
I don't know how many campgrounds we have stayed at in which their 'events' were laughable at best. We've paid to draw faces on milk cartons, tie dye t-shirts that we supply, and other rip offs. Bethpage is anything but that.
The only thing I would add that could be improved, is an outdoor bar would be great! This place has everything else, I am surprised they don't have one.

We stayed here last week as they were running a special of buy 2 nights get 1 free. We loved the space we had. We were told during the Oyster Festival the spots are half the size we got during this time, as it is a huge event and attracts lots of people. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. It was easy to get in and out of the location. The water slides were a huge hit, as well as the leap frog pads in the pool. All ages are covered in their pool area with appropriate age equipment. The lake was lots of fun. Other than few minor issues (listed below) we loved this place and cannot wait to go again next year. The campground is well maintained, and you can tell they continue to improve the facilities and keep families happy.
The only downfall we had was with the cable. We plugged in and nothing worked. Desk gave us a box to use and we still received nothing. We told them this a few times, and were told to call the company on the box. Our neighbors left and when they did they removed their cable and put ours in their slot, and boom we had cable. This lead us to believe it was with their box and not the cable company itself. This was a minor detail for us, as we were here to camp and not watch much tv. The other issue was with the cost of a golf cart rental. It is $50 per day. This would of added another $150 to our bill, so we did not rent one. You can walk to most things, except the mini golf, which is quite a distance to walk, especially if hot.

Very well maintained, lots of water activities and entertainment

Cons:

can be very busy and pricey

We visited this campground 2 or 3 times a year as our grandkids love all the activities due to its proximity to us (~70 miles). The staff is capable and very good. Under new management as of 2018, but appears to be maintaining the high level of professionalism and investment of the prior owners, who put a lot money back into park every year. It can be very busy during holiday weekends, but always entertaining.
