Diamond Lake is north of Crater Lake. We chose this spot to tour Crater Lake as well as the many local features and waterfalls in the area. There is a forest service campground right on the shore but this is the full service campground right across the road on forest service land. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Many of the sites are tucked into the trees but here are some out in the open. Lots of room and the gravel roads and sites are well packed and firm. Free wi-fi and full hookups were excellent. The only drawback was the mosquitos. However, the USFS was drawing down the lake to kill off something in it so the water level was very low. That may account for the mosquitos, which were pretty bad. We camped here in a 40' motorhome in June 2006.

Great relaxing area. They have killed off the Chubs and are restocking the lake with trout.
