Description:
|
Located in Central Lake County north of Chicago, this camping "resort" is mostly for seasonal campers, but there are about 30 or so overnighters with varying levels of utilities up to full hookups with 50 amp. There is a swimming lake with fishing as well. One advatange of the location is the extensive Lake County park system with lots of multi-use trails. Also nice is an adjacent RV service center, so if any problems arise, they come right to the site.

tight sites, limited availability - need reservations expecially if you have a big rig

Good spot for a quick weekend getaway in the Chicago area. Location in Lake County is good for the local forest preserve system amenities, and there is a Metra train station in Grayslake to get to Downtown. Nice beach area with concession stand.
