Description:	This is a USFS campground located just 3 miles outside of the Yellowstone East Gate on the south side of the highway to Cody. The campground is hard side, dry camping only, but has a large water tank at the host site for filling jugs. It does have vault toilets and bear proof dumpsters. Several of its campsites backup onto the North Fork of Shoshone River. It is only about a 30 minute drive to the Yellowstone Fishing Bridge Campground for showers and supplies. $15 a night / $7.50 with the Senior's National Parks Card obtainable for $10 entering any national park.

Pros:	Uncrowded, peaceful, water sound, cool, not buggy
Cons:	A little far from any services if you are planning to just stay in place.

We were up in Yellowstone during the July 4 week, 2016, without reservations in Yellowstone due to the last minute nature of the trip. There was nothing available in the park, so we decided to head toward Cody to find a campsite when we stumbled across Three Mile Campground. We were able to get a site right up against the river that would accommodate our 35' motorhome. It was so nice and peaceful that we stayed for a week and commuted to Yellowstone almost daily with our car, with the exception of the day that the ladies decided to head down to Cody for the day. I will probably never stay in the park again and we do a week in Yellowstone every couple of years.
