Description: The state park is composed of two separate camping areas located next to two of the 5 separate lakes in the state park. Full service pads are only available on the Lake Wadonda loop but there are more sites at the Boulder Lake loops. These vary from basic to electric only.

We've only use the Wakonda pads and are very pleased with that site. Washrooms are clean, trash receptacles support recycling, non-powered john boat rentals are available and the sites are very spread out making for lots of privacy.

Pads are gravel with concrete patios.

Each parking site backs up to the lake and the banks are cleared immediately behind the pad with log steps to the water's edge for fishing.

Been to four MO state parks and this is our favorite so far. That doesn't mean the others were bad either.

Pros: Proximity to St. Louis, Quincy, SE Iowa, quiet well kept, lots of bike riding roads, convenient fishing from bank, playground and sand volley ball in site of all pads (Lake Wakonda loop)
Cons: No full service pads on Boulder Lake loops

Did the full review above....
