Description: The CG is located about 9 miles North of exit 17 off of I84. The CG is in a very wooded area. There 50 amp full hookups to no hookup sites. Basic cable TV is at most all site. This KOA has all the usual KOA ammenities and activities. The CG has a well stocked store and a large compliment of staff to respond to customer needs. Big rigs take note, the CG has narrow but passable interrior roads. The pull throughs are able to handle a 40' coach and toad. The wooded sites are large and there is privacy between sites (woods). There is no WIFI. A room for dialup access is available.

Pros: friendly/knowledgable staff, family oriented CG with many activities for kids, large (length/width) pull through sites
Cons: no WIFI, high priced, sites not level

This review is based on a four night stay in October 2006. Now that I have your attention with a "10" rating, please read on.

The CG is maintained in excellent condition. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and plentiful. The CG is in a fully wooded area. There is no WIFI. Sat TV is out of the question. Very basic cable TV is at most sites. Antenna TV can bring in channel 10 from Albany. The pull through (site 125) sites are not level and required blocking in addition to jacks to get the coach level. My rear wheels were off the ground! There is a local RR station you can drive to and catch a train to Grand Central Station in NYC.

If you have children, this CG is a 10. This CG focuses on activities for the kids. It is known in the New England/NYC area for their children centered activities. You name the holiday, they are full of families and the kids are having a ball.

If you do not have children, the CG is over priced and with the problems mentioned above, it is not a good stop. If you are here during the Spring or Fall, there is plenty to do with the local area farms and festivals.

Pros: close to I87 and I84, friendly and helpful staff, well maintained, clean and neat
Cons: priced way too high, family focused CG (way too many kids)

This review is based on a 4 night stay in July of 2010. This is an update to my previous review. WIFI has been installed. It is terrible. The rate they charge is way too much for the services offered. The rate mention above includes a $4/night "resort fee". This CG caters to locals who use it for a get away. With NYC area salaries, I guess people feel the price is worth it. The CG has not kept up with trimming their wooded sites. We were not able to use our awning. The CG rules are more like suggestions. Cars parked on the very narrow roads make the pull through sites a pull in and back out site. If we did not have our power transformer, power would have been a problem. The power problem was during the entire stay and the CG was not full. Water pressure was at the low acceptable pressure. We took a scheduled NYC and would not recommend it. We were rushed so badly, there was barely time to take a picture. There was no time to purchase a souvenir or enjoy the activity.

In the future, when in this area, I will look elsewhere. There were way too many obnoxious local kids. Pure NYC attitude was very evident.

Basic cable TV is available. There are few TV choices. The CG is so wooded there is no hope of Sat reception.

This is just too much money for a gravel/dirt site that is difficult to get out of.

Pros: Nice pool, well kept, free pancakes from 7 am - 10 am, nicely wooded sites or open sites, well stocked supplies store, dedicated doggie area, and friendly staff.
Cons: You can't choose who you camp next to, total chaos on a holiday weekend, poison ivy all over the place

Standard KOA. Not the best cg we ever stayed at but certainly not the worst... They say they are the closest cg to NYC, which is not true and it's not close to NYC by any means. They are at least 65 to 70 miles away. Enjoyed the all you can eat free pancakes in the morning and enjoyed the pools... Couldn't get WIFI at my site, but wasn't going to pay $5 /day for it anyway... Not within walking distance of anything so bring your bikes, motorcycle, or toad. The poison ivy in the woods is all over, can get on your dog, and then you... so be careful! Also bring your bug repellent... lots of night time bugs! All in all not a bad place to stay, but not a destination...
