Description: Club Royal Oak is 5 miles east of Kingsburg on a good asphalt road. It has paved and gravel roads with grass sites, a few with concrete patios. The campground has lots of trees for shade. During the summer it is hot and the campground is used mostly by boaters and personal water craft owners. There are 30 amp full hook ups off the water and campsites on the river with no hook ups.

Pros: Shady and grassy sites, river views
Cons: near a gun club

Club Royal Oak was called Royal Oak until 2006. The park was in receivership in 2005. The new owners have trimmed the tree and cleaned up the park. We stay weekends here in the fall, winter and spring. Summer weekends are busy with boaters on the Kings River. The management personnel of the campground are great. We usually dry camp on the river.

2009
No more dry camping on the river. They have installed electric and water. Sewer lines cannot be as close to the water.

Pros: Large spaces; Quiet
Cons: Pricey and Picky

confusing disclaimers [e.g. electricity]; no checkin past 5:00; $60 a night + extra $3 if your motorhome happens to have two A/C units; assigned space featured slab of cement that i was to drive to the left of but not hit the pole on the left of a narrow "driveway"... this is not a resort level place - just resort level cost [and gated]
