Description: I guess this might have been an OK place back in the 70's but it is really run down now. There are only 4 full hook up sites in the place. Need 30 0r 50 amp? These folks shoot for the middle and provide 40 amp with a 30 amp plug. Extreeeemly steep and twisting road leading up to the campground from the main road. At least the rate was cheap at $ 25 per night. I'm not really complainign about the place, I just hate to see people let things get so run down and shabby. After Labor Day, we were the only people in the campground for the entire rest of the week. I am glad I have an RV with toilet and shower, since the bath house was kind of rough, and the dusk to dawn light was blown out, so the entire campground was pitch black at night. They do not pick up their garbage on a regular basis, so of course this draws out the little mountain critters at night, and it is found strewn all over in the morning. The camp office and store is geared entirely around their cave tours. No groceries or supplies of any kind. Plenty of souveniers made in China though. All in all, I bet "Trailer Life" would be real proud to know these folks are still displaying their Inspected and Approved sign. There are other campgrounds in the area, that I would look into if I were to go this way again. They do have a nice cave, but even that was expensive to tour compared to Mammoth, and several other privatley owned caves in the area. In search of the all mighty dollar, and letting the place go to pot at the same time. Just does not make sense. Oh well, we had a relaxing trip besides the camp conditions.

Pros: Close to local activities
Cons: Old, run down, and ill cared for

Look elsewhere for a place to stay.
