supersize

Description: Very clean, shady sites of adequate size. Most back up to a small stream. Access from the east (off Hwy 70) is approx 6-miles of tight road with some blind curves. Access from the west (off Blue Ridge Pkwy) would be very very difficult in an RV. Ad says they are pet friendly but I feel "pet-tolerant" is a more appropriate description. Good place for little kids to play and for gospel music folk to get a good dose of singing and preaching.

Pros: Lots of trees, nice little creek, clean.
Cons: Access

Family camping is the main focus here. We do not have children and the area is too small to exercise our dogs since the pets are restricted to graveled areas only. Lack of walking trails was inconvenient and my pets seemed to always chose the most embarrassing place to go.

I made a 6-day reservation and was not informed that it would be less expensive to make a 7-day reservation (weekly rate)plus getting an extra day. My own fault for not paying attention to the process, but still left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Pros: Clean, well maintained.
Cons: Access from Blue Ridge Parkway

We stayed here on a site that backs up to the creek. A very nice, well run park and is very clean.

Pros: Beautiful sites on stream
Cons: owners have lots of rules

I had to pay an early check in fee before noon and it was 11:45. Owner had lots of rules she had to tell me about. Dogs couldn't go on grass. However, they had a fenced dog park. We paid for a deluxe site - huge and on stream. Could hear stream all night. Beautifully landscaped. Nice restroom and showers. Lots of gravel on roads and sites so no muddy spots. We'd go again.
