Pros: 14 miles to Key West
Cons: Too many to mention!

What they describe and what you get are two different things. Very pricey at $94+ a night and even more for water sites. Those water sites look at the bridge of US1, not the Ocean. Now for the beach, actually a gravel beach since there is not any sand. You will need to wear water shoes to walk on it. (Someone mentioned that beaches in florida are not sand. Palm Beach, Lake Park, Jupiter, Clearwater, etc., they are all sandy beaches.) And once in the water there is nothing but rocks and a large drop off so be careful. Many tent campers as well which use the campground for their chicken bone tossing instead of placing in the trash. While walking our dogs through the park they were more concerned in finding every tossed bone instead of doing their 1 & 2s. Not to good for your pets so use very short leashes to give yourself time to snatch them away from the bones before they choke. Please view the pictures uploaded to see just how tight the beach sites are. The non-beach sites have more room. We will never stay there again! Our stay was in May of 2007 for 4 nights. There are many much better RV spots to stay at in the Keys such as Bluewater Key, just google for them.

Pros: clean, large, showers. friendly staff, beach, spacious campsites
Cons: none

This is our campground of choice when going to Key West. I can't say enough about the employees. We have been camping for 38 years, and this campground is one of our favorites. Since there isn't any sand beaches in the keys, they have mostly ground coral beaches. But we didn't find this to be a problem. The beach front sites are big enough to put slides out, and the front of the site (beach side) is meant to be the site with picnic tables. Plenty of room for us!! I highly recommend this campground.

Pros: Plenty of activities for the kids. Nightly entertainment for adults.
Cons: Tight, real tight

Yes the sites were tight but the place was hopping as it IS the Keys. More of the Key West party crowd then the senior, quiet crowd. Was there during Spring Break but only saw families and older couples - NO college partyers. Boys loved the water trampoline and the fishing bridge. I thought the park was very clean and the staff was always around. Will be staying there again this spring.

Pros: Nice staff, beautiful bar, pretty pool area
Cons: Sand fleas, small sites, poor view

We went there in July with our RV. The sand fleas were atrocious and scarred our daughters legs, arms and face terribly. You couldn't see them, but we felt them and we were all miserable. The staff was very friendly, the bar and pool area was really nice but we don't camp to sit in bars and pools. We went to Marathon, found Sunshine Key RV resort which has true views of the "Gulf side". We'll stay there from now on.
