I have read negative reports on RVparkreviews and couldn't disagree with them more.We had a golf cart escort to our campsite and was even directed into our campsite. The staff of 3 in the office were friendly cheerful and there was staff all over the campground working to make it even more attractive. There was a nice big pool and things for kids to do. First 15 minutes of WIFI is free then $2.95 a day.We didn't go to the public restrooms but I'm sure they were as neat and clean as everything else. Sites were gravel, but pretty level.Even though near the highway the traffic noise didn't bother us a bit,it may if you were in a tent or pop up When in the area we would definitely stay there again

We spent the weekend at Candy Hill. Upon arrival at the office we were greeted by very friendly employees. We were escorted to our site and the older gentleman guided us into a back in spot. The site pad was paved and we had full hook up. The pad was not completely level, but nothing the automatic levelers could not address.
The ground were mowed and well kept. On Sunday they featured a car show which was a plus before we hit the road.

Road noise from VA37

Campground has around 100 sites. Stayed on a week day. Campground was about half full. Very nice lawn, nice pool, staff was friendly, Wifi worked well. I even got my dish tailgater to work. The only downer was road noise from VA37 as it is right against one side of the campground. They can't plant trees due to high tension power lines. However, with AC on and ear plugs in, the problem was overcome. I really enjoyed this campground and will return. I stayed here in a motorhome.

Bo and I went camping at Candy Hill, Winchester, VA for a few days. We checked there web site before we left to see if they allowed Crickets (very small golf cart). o mention of gold carts at all. They did say they rent them. Well, we loaded Cricket on the back of the truck and off to Candy Hill we went. They checked us in and even took us to our site and still did not say anything about Cricket. We later went riding around the campground to see what was there. We noticed some "golf carts" for sale and decided to take a look. Well!!! One of the employees came down and said could he help us. We told him we were just looking. He wanted to know if the blue cart was ours and we said yes! He said if we had any questions to ask the main office. We left and rode around again but this time were stopped by the same guy stopped us and said you are not allowed to drive you golf cart around. We replied that none of the Rules and Regulations give...n to us states we can not drive our Cricket nor does your web site. He said "It is somewhere on the second page"! So we went back to our camp site. Needless to say there was nothing on the second page bout us using cricket! It was not long before another person from Candy Hill came knocking at our door. Bo told him the same things, nothing on their web site or paperwork we were given. Oh yes it is It's in the Q and A section of the web site. UNREAL!!!!! Then he has the gull to tell us the Cricket had to go back on the truck while we were there. He said other campers might complain!!!!
Might go back......small, clean and nice place but ALL rules and regulations should be stated when you camp at campgrounds not in the
Q and A section. Whoever heard of such a thing? I never would have looked there!!!

Pros:

Well maintained, sites within capacity of levelers
|
Cons:

Price too high even with Good Sam discount
|

We had a "premium" site - a moniker attached to all pull-thru sites. the patio area of our site in very narrow, then it slopes. tree blocks sat access, but they do have free cable. No grill. Highway noise is a problem. This is way too expensive for an overnight stay - our mistake, should have asked first.

Clean. Easy site access. Short drive to just about everything.
|
Cons:
|
No fishing, woods or hiking area on site.

(Price was with Good Sam discount.) Guided to site after check in. Newly paved premium sites with new propane grills, fire pits, glass topped tables with six chairs and two lounge chairs. Two sewage access points. Free cable hook up.
Candy Hill was very clean and well kept. Professional and polite staff who took pride in the campground. Very clean well stocked store. Gameroom for the kids. Firewood delivered to site ($5.27 w/tax). No trees in the premius site area. Site (E-1) was very level. Highway noise wasn't a problem for us. I opine the price was reasonable considering you can hop right on the Interstate (37) and you are close to just about anything you either need or would like to do. We'll stay here again.
