Pros: Quiet, Clean restrooms, spacious rv sites
Cons: Rough road into park handled by driving slow

This is the type of campground we like. It is at the end of the road, so you have to want to stay here. The campground has large sites, with full and partial hookups. The dry camping spots offer more of a scenic view. Our favorite spot is Number 9, no hookups but is right(above the lake about 150 feet) on the lake. Good fishing for Bass, a boat ramp is available. The campground has a nice playground for children. Best time of the year is March and April, as all the wild flowers are in bloom. Summer can be HOT!

We are back after spending summer at 6700 feet. We forgot just how quiet it is at this campground. A mtn lion had it's cubs just over the hill from our favorite camp site this spring. The road into the campground has been reworked and is better, but it is not interstate smooth!!
Maybe we should tell all to stay away, it is getting harder to get an electric site. Good thing we can rough it w/o electricity and water.

I added the Bobcat picture. We had seen him 3 times in the last year, but always w/o the camera...will we ever learn? I received this photo from one of the Rangers who had a camera handy.

The Corp is adding 21 new electric sites to the campground. These new sites will be very well spaced out, unlike the present electric sites that are mostly all in a row. These electric sites will extend the camping season in comfort. A few of our favorite new electric sites will be; 39, 41, 48, and 51. All of these sites will accommodate a 40 footer plus.

Pros: Beautiful area.
Cons: Bumpy road from Chowchilla to the lake.

Nice place. Sites are ample in size and fairly level. Full hook-up. Great grassy area with a jungle gym type for the kids and area for adult lawn games. Would be too warm for me in the summer months, but for the spring and fall great. Lots of different birds.
