Description: 200+ site campground located in NE OH. When most state park campgrounds in OH are busy & packed, this campground has sites available.

Sites are electric only on paved pads with picnic tables & fire rings. Most of the sites are located amongst mature trees but there are others (like the one we were in) in open areas. Several are in low lying areas that are prone to hold water during rains. A few have lakeshore access.

The campground is relatively flat allowing for biking ease. Medium-sized beach is clean & located adjacent to a large, unlimited horsepower lake. The park also has basketball, horseshoe & volleyball courts. Family friendly movies are shown at the ampitheatre (summers).

As with most of the OH state parks, the showerhouse needs updating. Avoid the pit latrines (scattered throughout the campground) if possible - they aren't very pleasant.

Review Date: Wed October 29, 2008 Would you recommend the campground? Yes | Price you paid?: $22.70 | Rating: 7

Pros: Quiet, open sites were fairly roomy, clean beach
Cons: Sites that hold water when it rains, pit latrines (yuk!)

Price paid reflects a 15% camper club discount (program discontinued in 2007) on an electric only back-in site.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.
