Pros: clean, great location to beach, full-service including RV repairs.
Cons: very popular, so make reservations in advance.

Thought I'd pass along our recommendation for a full-service RV park on the Central Coast of California, Morro Dunes RV Park, which is on the west side of Highway 1, at the Highway 41 exit, just north of Morro Bay.

Added info 5/11/06: This RV park provides FREE WiFi and it works very well. (Paul)

Morro Bay is right on the water, about 25 miles west of San Luis Obispo, CA (and Cal Poly).

The park is well maintained and has immediate access to the sand dunes and the ocean that makes Morro Bay so popular. Several golf courses are within a 30 minute drive.

The only down side to this RV park is that it is so popular you need to make your reservations several months in advance, even in the non-vacation months. We lucked out. We called 2 days before we planned to arrive and asked for 12 days. They had 3 days available (Tues-Thurs), but said that they would keep us in mind if they got a cancellation. They called us when we were about 2 hours away and told us they received a cancellation and said we could stay a total of 10 days. We booked it and have enjoyed every minute on this part of the California Coast.

Pros: Good location surrounding area has manny attractions
Cons: Depending on your site can have limited space

Good location cross a small street and your on the dunes/beach. There is a river storm channel that runs next to the park to the ocean, most of the town of Morro Bay is on the other side of the river so walking to town can be difficult depending on the flow of the river. This is a generally clean well maintained park, with friendly management. There are large pull thru spots in the back portion of the park which can easily handle any size unit. There are spots much closer to the beach that are back in spots, however if you have a large rv/trailer these can be difficult.

Pros:
Cons:

I have been camping (tents, truck camper, tent trailer, finally a Class C!) at Morro Dunes since the early 1970's. It's a second home to my family. We always take the back-in spaces by the fence/dunes. They are in little cul-de-sacs holding maybe six vehicles. I am wracking my brain for items to critique, but how do you criticize your second home! it is a bit of a walk to the beach, over a lot of sand, but hey, that's not Morro Dune's fault !

Not sure anyone can see this Facebook album, but there are a few pictures of the view from Morro Dunes. https://www.facebook.com/kris.watson...945&type=1

Pros: Location
Cons: Small Spaces

The location is awesome. The wifi works fairly well but during our stay it dropped everybody for anything from a few seconds to several hours at a time. This happened several times a day. When it works it's very good.

We were given a space on the main road into the park. The space is so narrow that I could not open cabinets on one side of our coach. If you have a choice get spaces away from the main road and deeper into the park. They seem to get bigger the further from the office they are. The flow of speeders is fairly constant. Most of the speeders are in rented RVs. The park has 5MPH signs everywhere but they don't seem to enforce it at all. I was nearly run over by a speeding jeep (driver was also texting) just a few steps from my door.

I'm told there is a dog run in the park but haven't found it yet.

I did not find the office staff to be all that friendly. When I enquired about moving to a roomier site I was curtly told 'no' without any further explanation. The park remained 40 to 50% vacant during our entire stay.
