Description:

This is a State Park located away from water in the woods not to far from Sebring. Its about 4 miles off hwy 27. Turn off hw 27 to hwy 634 and go down a two lane road until you get to the park. It looks like they just took a field and put in some electrical and water connections without much planning. The roads and sites are all dirt and not maintained very well. They do have a new bath house--real nice if you need one. I would avoid this CG unless you like to ride horses in the woods. s/Toby

Pros:

Not a whole lot. Not much here.
|
Cons:
|
Bad dirt roads and sites. Needs a lot of work
|

The State should close this park until they fix up the camp ground. I think some horse groups use this CG sometimes to ride their horses in the woods. Sebring lake is 4 miles to the East and not accessible from this CG. I would rate this CG a 2 or 3. s/Toby

Pros:

Lots of trees, beautiful trails.

Cons:

Noisy and odd layout

The park is great, beautiful trails. The campground is rather random in it's layout some of the pull through sites are probably the best. They have paved the roads recently; much better than a couple years ago. The lowest number loop is mostly occupied by tents and tends to have a lot of noise so be aware when booking your site. Also there is one water and electric hookup for each pair of back in sites, so you may find that the hook up is in front of your coach. Many people pull into the site to connect but this puts the fire ring behind you too. Best bet is to have extra hose and power extension in case you're site is on the wrong side.

If the roads have been paved, then I'd give it a 6. The water is indeed messed up. The site we were on, we had to share with our neighbors. Lucky for us the other site was empty till the last day. The roads were so soft some were getting stuck. Most of the trees were so tall they offered little shade. I doubt we'd go back. Gatordude

I live in sebring, and agree it was a mess when they were paving the roads through the CG, but it is finished now and is very nice. Never had a problem with the water there.
