Description: At 2,753 feet above sea level, Mt. Magazine is highest point in Arkansas. Park campsites are locate in scenic settings, including water, electric and sewer hookups. Reservations can be made on-line. The picture was made at a scenic look-out not far from the campground. Lots of hiking trails with fine dining at the lodge not far away. There is a hang-gliding area a short distance from the lodge.

Pros: Beautiful setting, 10 to 20 degrees cooler than valley below
Cons: Only a few campsites, they need more

This is a beautiful park. The facilities look new, everything is clean, the sites are spacious and quite. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hiking trails are beautiful and very well maintained. It's definitely a park for nature lovers, with no large town close. Cell coverage is weak to non-existent in the campground, but ok at the Lodge. The Lodge also has free WiFi.

Pros: Beautiful Forest - GREAT Hiking!
Cons: Only 2 sites with 50 amp service

A hidden treasure! Only 18 sites, yet all are VERY nice. The hiking was some of the best ever for us. Campground sites were fantastic. They all have at least 30 amp service / water / sewer and since it is cooler on top of Mt. Magazine, we could have made it just fine with only 30 amps. Shaded sites, too. Campground was like new. We were there five nights, June 2012
