Pros:
very large park located deep in the forest/large private sites/comfort station with washer&dryer/well patroled by park staff
Cons:
Beach is a long walk from the campground/long drive from nearest town for shopping
This is one of my favorite parks, although reservations are needed as this campground is usually packed full during the summer months.

Beautiful beaches

Poison ivy along trails to the beach, and a long way to the beach.

We enjoyed Awenda. It is not far from Penetanguishene. The sites are dark, hidden under a canopy of tall trees. Bring a dining tent. The mosquitoes weren't a problem, but as we were sitting enjoying the campfire, I noticed a steady rain of daddy longlegs falling out of the trees and hitting the tent. The beaches are very nice and beautiful spot for enjoying the sunsets. You pretty much have to drive to the beaches though, as they are a long way from the campsites and the road goes down over a cliff/dune. There is also a pretty little lake in the park where you can rent canoes/kayaks. There was no poison ivy at our campsite but along the trails to the beaches, be careful.
