Medium-sized campground on a penninsula that juts into Michael Kirwan Reservoir located in NE OH.
Sites are a mix of open and shaded, pet & no-pet sections, all have paved parking pads, picnic tables & fire rings. A lot of them have lake views. All sites are electric & there are about 30 fhu sites. Although the website uses the word level describing the site parking pads, you really need to have blocks/boards with you as "level" seems to be subject to interpretation. I have yet to be on a site that I didn't need blocks/boards to reach level.
This campground has the "holy grail" of bath houses/restrooms. All OH state parks should have facilites so nice. They were built brand new a few years ago, are bright, clean, well-thoughtout & the showers have lockable doors on them (instead of shower curtains like many parks do) & plenty of hot water.
There's an ampitheater where they show family friendly movies on summer weekends, playground, basketball & sand volleyball courts. Boating (rentals available at the marina), fishing & a beach on the reservoir. The paved interior roads make for nice bike riding & there are also mountain bike trails (for the more ambitious riders!). Plus there are miles upon miles of hiking trails available.
One note, do not try to come in on Rock Spring Road from Rt 5 (north side). There is a very rickety, narrow bridge you would have to cross over & it is NOT rv-friendly.
Price paid reflects a fhu, back-in site.

Campground has 198 sites - 29 fhu, 155 electric and 14 non-electric. As of 2018, all sites can be reserved, no walk-in sites. Nice mix of sun and shade, lots of natural privacy barriers between many of the sites. Staff and camp hosts are very friendly and helpful. Small camp store stocked with snacks and some camping necessities. Small grocery store in nearby Edinburg has a great selection of fresh meats, along with deli items. Shower houses are well-maintained and very clean.
Beautiful hiking and mountain bike trails. Boat rental at the marina - pontoons, runabouts and fishing boats available. Lots of ranger-led activities for kids and adults.
Price posted is for electric site. Ohio residents senior discount: 10% on the weekends, 50% during the week.
The scary bridge on Rock Spring Rd has been replaced, so the campground is easily accessible from either direction.
