Description: Located at Exit 59 right off I-40 on the east side of Asheville, NC. Very easy to find. Kid friendly campground and lots of activities. Best sites are right on the river. Ask for sites A-2 thru A-7. My families favorite site is A-4.

Very large lots and lots of trails to walk. Two large lakes to fish in.

Pros: Best site A-4, Great Walking Trails, Fishing, Clean
Cons: Train noise

This is a great campground with large lots. We always enjoy staying on the river. Any site between A-2 and A-8 is nice. A-4 is our favorite. Very clean facilities. Game room could use updating but don't they all. 2 large ponds great for fishing with the kids. Trails go all the way around the lake. Nice swimming pool. Large playgrounds. Don't come just for the putt putt course. It's your typical campground, unmaintained putt putt course.

The only negative aspect of this park is nearby train tracks. Not sure why they need to blow that D*MN train horn at 3 o'clock in the morning ! Other than that, we love the place. Amazingly, the horn bothers my wife more than it does me.
