Home in Eugene for Xmas

Posted 12-23-2017 at 04:06 PM by bassgirl (Life in the Cloud)

The kids and my hometown friends are 100% in agreement about how cool it is- I found a sweet RV spot on airbnb (i'm a veteran airbnb'er) and have been really enjoying the country feel of the place, as well as the short drive to everything in town. I'm going to stay in Eugene probably...

The road, we hit it...

and this is just too cool. I love, LOVE, having everything all self-contained, and i'm just tickled that absolutely *everything* works the way it's supposed to.

The details: Eric (my best friend and music partner) traveled to Eugene, OR with me as we decided to caravan vehicles (I'd never driven an RV over the pass, and I thought that RV PLUS towing my car might be a little much for the first time). We pulled out in the late afternoon and reached Corning, CA around 7 or 8 pm- I'd...

2750w Solar Panels, I Made It...

Posted 12-06-2017 at 05:28 AM by bassgirl (Life in the Cloud)

I've been restoring my '92 Fleetwood Jamboree 27' Searcher Special (re-christened "the Cloud") for the past 2 months. It's been....a learning experience, to be sure, as well as more work than I had ever imagined! I knew it had been neglected for the previous 5 or so years, but as a complete RV newbie, I didn't know about aaaaallll the little things that can go wrong, break, fall apart, mold, etc on one, and I'd never heard the axiom "It's not IF they will leak, but WHEN"....

HI, just thought I would check in and say HI, I just signed up to the site and it sounds like a nice one.
I have been an RVer all my adult life, mainly because of my occupation as an equipment operator.
