Okay so now my sister and I survived our first RV towing trip and are all setup at our beautifully paved and deeply wooded site with water/electric hookup. During check-in the desk attendant had mentioned several times about bear awareness and safety precautions. For those that have been following my musings and rantings I thank you and I apologize for my absence. It started innocent enough. One of our winter snowbird trips had very poor internet connection. After a month of connections so poor I could not get email except for going to Mcdonalds or the library I got out of the habit. My regular blog Whelans on the road | Blog | RV Travel | Snowbirds | Motorhome had an off line ability and I focused on that. My bad... Anyway I am back and hope to stay...

Starting off with a BANG!

My very first RV trip started off with a BANG, literally! With my sister (unwillingly) and the 17FQ Viking RV in tow, I pulled out of my driveway and onto the road feeling ever so smug with the tune of “I am women, Hear Me Roar” singing in my head. Suddenly, I heard a loud bang and a scraping sound that ended with a bump to my truck’s back end. We both jumped out thinking we had been hit by another car, only to find the RV unhitched and sitting half on the road and shoulder.

Cape Hatteras RV park for the week. Beautiful here. Weather so far is awesome.
