Packing for our first long trip

Posted 11-18-2009 at 01:15 PM by RVrescue

I've been packing for our first long trip-and our first trip in the old girl with both our dogs. We'll be staying in Oregon for a week so I'm trying not to forget anything-and without a television...oh how shall we survive ?

Ready to Roll

Posted 11-13-2009 at 05:16 PM by RVrescue

The old girl is ready to roll again. Unfortunately my Dad didn't live long enough to take one last trip in her. My husband and his buddy have been working on the new roof. As they started to remove parts, pieces, and wood (it really was that bad) they discovered that the top roof was glued to the insulation for the ceiling. Instead of pulling the old roof off, they've put more wood over the top. Lazily, I didn't take any pics of the process. It looks like it will be done in a week or so and then we'll be hitting the road again.
I'm excited as we've almost got her shining again. I've been working on...

Posted 08-22-2009 at 12:47 AM by RVrescue

I can't believe it, I've become one of "them". I remember visiting my friend's parents who were the camp hosts for a lake close by and wondering what was the fascination with living in an RV. That was during a stage in life when I backpacked and the only true "get-away" experience meant hiking in as far as my legs could carry me. All that has changed with our recent family addition: a 1993 Tiffin 35' Allegro Bay diesel pusher-a gift from my parents who have been unable to use...
