Myrtle Beach - The First Road Trip

Posted 05-02-2012 at 05:55 AM by TheRVManiac

The day finally came...our first road trip in our new-to-us 97 National Seabreeze. After taking three trips to learn about our new coach and get to know it, we felt ready to take a first extended trip in it. I can only wonder why we didn't do this sooner!

We left on Wed. April 11 at 4 PM in somewhat dreary weather. Once on the road, the sun came out and we got some nice sunshine for the first part of the trip. We stopped for dinner at a Flying J Denny's and had one of the finest...

Road Trip!!

Posted 04-09-2012 at 01:41 PM by TheRVManiac

It is time to take this show on the road!

After getting to know our new-to-us RV by taking 4 days out with it, we are ready for a week long trip to one of our favorite destinations, Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. We have been going there for over 10 years now, usually around Easter, although we have been there a couple of times in June. We love the beach and DW loves Broadway at the Beach and the shows. The number of golf courses doesn't hurt either, although...

De-winterize, young man!

Posted 03-02-2012 at 07:33 PM by TheRVManiac

Looks like this week will be the week we have awaited all winter...or pre-spring as it was this year. Looks like there might be a break in the weather mid-week and we have a campground fairly close to us with FHU, WiFi so I can work, and close enough to Columbus to get OTA television reception. Time to test all systems for a couple of days!

We have purchased new bedding and picked up a second folding bicycle. I still need a water pressure regulator and filter and we need to pick...

The Money Pit and Other Maintenance

Been picking up a few things to prepare for the season and learning a lot about our "new to us" motorhome. Since we have picked it up, I have found only few items that either did not work or I did not understand how they worked. At this point, I only have one outstanding issue and it is not showstopper.

I was having trouble getting the lock mechanism on the door to work properly. The dead bolt worked well, but I really wanted to get the lock to work as well. Found out...

Schedule

Posted 01-23-2012 at 09:48 PM by TheRVManiac

We have made a few reservations for the coming season and are very excited about the three destinations we have chosen.

In April, we will be heading to Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Surfside Beach, SC. We have camped there many times as well as rented houses there, but this will be our first big trip with the Seabreeze. We do plan on getting it out for a weekend prior to leaving but have not finalized those plans yet. We will be in SC for a week.

In May, we will...

Notes from the Ohio RV Supershow at the I-X Center

Spent last Saturday at the RV Show at the I-X Center in Cleveland. Having never been to a show, Sue and I were looking forward to a couple hours of perusing. Little did we know that a couple of hours at an RV show is just enough to keep you there for 4 more.

The I-X Center was thoroughly packed with vehicles. I read in a post on the forums here that it was not as big as last year. Yikes!

The majority of the hall was filled with travel trailers. Sue and I enjoyed...
