Jelly Stone Campground, Cosby Tennessee

Posted 06-17-2012 at 05:39 PM by Jennifer P

I have to tell you about this wonderful campground. These owners really know what they are doing!
They take campground maintenance to a new level.
What I found most impressive was watching them greet each new camper and escorting them to their spot and backing them in. They stand next to the driver window and tell them exactly which way to turn the wheel. The driver doesn't even have to look! It was amazing to watch took out any worries of tight spots.
If you have never...

Grayson Highlands State Park, VA Campground Review

Grayson Highlands State Park

Let me begin by saying,
we did not stay in the main campground so my review may not be totally fair.
We actually camped in the stable camping area.
It was Memorial Day weekend so they it was used as the overflow campground.

There were around twenty sites in this area.
We did visit the main campground and it was very nice and much larger.
One of the things we loved about staying on this side was

Keeping up with the Remote

Posted 05-22-2012 at 06:57 PM by Jennifer P
Updated 05-22-2012 at 07:03 PM by Jennifer P

This could possibly be the shortest tutorial in history of blogs.

This tip is so easy....

put velcro on the back of your remote,
and stick it to the wall near your TV.

It will be "hanging around" when you pull into your next site...and no more,
"WHERE'S THE REMOTE?!!!

Easy Camping Corn on the Cob!

Posted 05-13-2012 at 06:05 AM by Jennifer P

This has to be the easiest corn on the cob ever!

Grilled Corn on the Cob

When purchasing your corn, buy it still in the husk.
To prepare, put in a cooler or any
big bucket and cover with water.
Soak at least 1 hour.

I like coolers because you can put the lid on and
go about your day.

Then, when you are ready to eat, just put on the grill for about 15 minutes, at the most.
The water from soaking

Campground Review

Honey Bear Campground
Boone, North Carolina

I can't say that we will ever go back to this sweet campground for one very simple reason; the sites are laid out backwards.
It looks as if the campground roads were paved at one time and over the years have just been replaced with gravel. The direction that seems to be the original lay out is now too risky for larger campers due to the steepness of the roads. They now direct you straight in, which makes the

Walking the Campground

Posted 05-02-2012 at 05:28 AM by Jennifer P

Our favorite camping activity...

walking the campground.

I know it would sound boring to some, but
we really love it.

Why? you ask...

We love the smell of the campfires, lights hanging from camper awnings, laughter of children playing and all the different styles of campers.

One thing I enjoy about having our own camper is that I can bring "home" with us when we travel.
