Motorhome madness...

Posted 04-01-2015 at 04:40 PM by Late arrival

Being an older single woman who on a whim purchased an ancient motorhome with the workhorse chassis, I decided to learn all I could about my new purchase. I unwittingly became another student of RV university.
First came the awful realization that no one wants to own a workhorse chassis even though it originally cost more...
Sure, I had been warned by you good irv2ers to maybe consider not getting that...but then I got caught up reading the parts about ford having spark plug issues and higher rpm and louder...so I purchased the workhorse...
Sure nuff, first trip out recycling brake pump. Thanks to the kindness and shop of old used bear, I have learned and received more than I ever wanted about hydraulic brakes and switches and cylinders. I am good to go with well working brake and spare parts if needed.
I then spent the next 30 nights lying in bed wondering if my new "home" was going to delaminate (something I am still not sure I understand) every time it rained. And did I mentioned it rained every day for 8 weeks. and Did I mention that I think I do have a small corner delamination where it got bumped by prior owner evidently just before I bought it?
With Christmas came a few weeks that I was too busy to even think of my new love....and I do LOVE IT!
Of course at this point I had only taken 1 short trip, several camp outs in my drive with grand kids and 1 overnighter in local walmart parking lot with my 5 yr.oldgrandson cause he was just dying to ride and sleep in it. By the way he thought that was the bomb.
Blog of first real trip coming soon.
