Pacebend Park, Spicewood Texas (outside of Austin)

Posted 09-29-2019 at 08:18 PM by MEWright

This was a great trip for us. Pacebend is about 10 minutes from our house but it was the first time we have ever taken the coach there. A friend has a yearly party that is over a long weekend and they all have rental units delivered. We decided to take the coach instead of just running home each night. Turned out this was a great way to play.

I drove to the park several months prior to the event to make sure our 40G would fit in the spots.

After looking at each spot closely (and they only have 20 improved spaces in the whole park) I reserved spot 8.

We had 10 of the 20 spaces for our group. 2 of the remaining were in the middle of us the rest were empty.

There was a complete outdoor fire ban except for the covered steel BBQ pits. No burning in the fire rings at all.

There is water, 30 and 50 amp at most sites (check before you reserve) no cable but great cell service, 100 yards to Lake Travis and a dump station with non-potable water just outside the park with easy asses in and out. Its my go dump station when we get home from trips...

The spot was 40 for 2 days for the coach and they charge 20 per day for trailers or toads.. Still very cheap..

# 8 was super flat, very deep, lots of tree cover, back in, concrete pads with nice picnic table and benches, nice BBQ grill (once cleaned it) and far enough away from neighbors that you could be nice without being in their business.

The main roads in and out are tree lined so you have to be careful, drive slow because you will dodge some low hangers and encroaching limbs that are mostly oak and mesquite--I.e. AC and awning killers....

3 stores within 3 miles, super easy in and out of the park and you can avoid Austin traffic completely if you plan the route correct. Hope this helps someone.. Enjoy our parks..

BTW all reservations must be done online and they do not take CC at the gate. You must have cash or check...reservations are very easy online.
