After Sequoias.

Posted 05-04-2017 at 10:26 PM by Old Truck Driver

We went back to Bakersfield Ca. and took hwy 58 to Mojave Ca. and went north on hwy- 395
to Bishop Ca. and set up in Browns RV camp.
They have about 10 spaces to accommodate a 70 foot Motor Home and Trailer. 50 amp electric, water. The sewer is out front of store.
We could run the ATV's right out of Browns RV camp across highway 395 down a dirt road. It's a big area to play all the way to the Owens River and about 5 miles to south. If you went to the west you can go way up the mountain over 12,000 feet high.
we spent 4 days there.
If you DE side to go up on the mountain, take a warm jacket. It gets cold that high.
When we left Bishop we headed for Reno.
On the way I had mentioned That I carved our initials in a dead Red Wood tree 47 years ago,she said I wonder if it's still there, I said yes, she said I want to see it. So over Donner we go Down to Nyack The Brake Check area and parked at the south end. Walked about 30 yards and pointed to the tree. It says DM+LM 1970 I don't know, must be a GIRL thing.
She new I did it but forgot. We have been Married 46 years at that time and that is the first time she got to see it.
More to come tomorrow.
