Part 9--- No way!

Posted 10-05-2018 at 04:34 PM by MEWright

Well its Friday and we are in Austin, not in Boerne picking up our new coach...

WTH you ask????

Well Thursday started like any other day. About 3 i get an email that it has been delayed for Friday.

Apparently there was a simple recall on the Fleetwoods about a power steering hose. Ancira RV sent the coach to Freightliner SA to have this addressed. On route a check engine light came on. Holy CR$P Batman, another check engine light. ...

Part 8 -- The New Deal

Posted 10-03-2018 at 01:41 PM by MEWright

Ancira RV will take the 2015 Thor Palazzo 33.3 back and get us out of it 100% like it never happened.

They are getting us into a 2014 Fleetwood Discovery 40G. The 2014, 40G has 1600 miles all new tires, new batteries and the normal make ready that this dealership does.

Like I have stressed from the beginning of this tale, we were never "pissed or even upset" at the dealership, they have done everything they could have done and done it right. We were never...

An Original NewMar NewAire

Posted 10-03-2018 at 09:12 AM by TomAndPeg
Updated 12-25-2019 at 02:45 PM by TomAndPeg

Update: Pantry Storage -- 10/3/18

Storage space in the NewAire comes at a premium, both outside and in. One of the first inside projects we did was to add a Pull Out Pantry to the narrow cabinet located next to the control panel above the fridge. The wood pantry shelves first had to be shortened by 1.5", and we replaced the drawer slides with a 20" set to fit the reduced cabinet depth....

Part 7 - 1 yard line, Its almost official

Posted 10-01-2018 at 06:17 PM by MEWright

Well, it looks we have all agreed to the new deal.

Remember, we bought a 2015 Thor Palazzo 33.3 from Ancira RV in Boerne Texas.

2 major malfunctions later (read the previous blogs to see the issues) Ancira RV agreed to help us into a different coach .

When we first started shopping we looked at a 2017 Fleetwood Discovery 40G. AWESOME coach way way way out of our budget and we decided to go smaller for the first few years, learn RVing...

Part 6 Unpacking

Posted 09-30-2018 at 07:39 PM by MEWright
Updated 09-30-2018 at 07:53 PM by MEWright

Not sure how many of you have ever sold a coach. But I can tell you one thing for certain for those who have not. You will need more boxes than you think. For a coach we had in our possession for only a few days total we sure packed it full of stuff.

I went to Freighter SA on Friday to unload the remaining items from our coach. I had previously unload allot of it when it broke down the second time leaving me stranded.

The first round we took a full truck load out,...

W24 Turn Signal Gremlin

Posted 09-28-2018 at 04:34 PM by jwanchek

I have a 2005 Newmar MtAire over a 2004 W24 chassis.

Statement of problem: Left turn signal blows fuse when turning left. It does not blow if you drive straight or turn right with left signal on. It does not blow if you turn left while stationary. Right turn with right turn signal is fine. Rear camera and backup lights are on the same fuse.

What I've done so far: Shake all wires I can get to with left turn signal on. Unplugged all rear lights under...

Part 1 Purchasing our new Coach from Ancira RV in Boerne

Posted 09-28-2018 at 06:54 AM by MEWright
Updated 09-28-2018 at 10:28 AM by MEWright

We spent over a year looking at coaches, new and used. We decided on a brand we liked, we could afford and had the amenities we felt we wanted. We spent a few months searching IRV2, RVT and other sites for this particular coach. We narrowed it down to 3. 1 in Forth Worth Texas at a dealership, 1 in FL and 1 in Boerne Texas at Ancira RV.

The dealership in Fort Worth was worse than any used car outfit I have ever talked to. I called about the coach I wanted, that I knew they had. The...

Part 5 Phone call from Freightliner after meeting with Ancira

Posted 09-27-2018 at 07:13 PM by MEWright

Well it has been about 45 minutes. Funny that I am exactly where the coach died when I get a call from JD and Freightliner SA. I am at the exact truck stop getting a drink.

He called to update me on the coach, he was finally able to learn something and it was NOT good.

Remember when I called him and the tech in the first failure. the serv tech mentioned we could call Cummings and run the VIN to see if it had been worked on in the past. Well the tech did just that...

Part 3

Posted 09-27-2018 at 06:25 PM by MEWright

Flash back in time a few days; When we heard the coach was almost done we decided to rent a spot at Round Top. A huge antique event in Central Texas. I check every RV park int he area and get lucky, I find 1 spot in town (right in the middle of everything) reserve it, no refunds for ANY reason... Not 100% sure we will get the coach back in time for all of it but I have the space for the entire week so we should get at least a few days of relaxing if not the entire week.

Back...

Part 2

Posted 09-27-2018 at 05:47 PM by MEWright
Updated 09-27-2018 at 08:30 PM by MEWright

It has been a month and we are picking up the coach from the repairs to the DPF system. Its once again on a Friday. I drive to Ancira RV, meet with Tim (Service) and Steve (my sales guy), go over everything done with them and a tech.

Tim notices the coach has 1/4 tank of diesel and tells me to go grab a water while he sends a porter to fill it up. We are basically getting a "DO OVER" from the original delivery.

I hook up the jeep, test all the lights, do...

An Original NewMar NewAire

Posted 09-26-2018 at 09:33 PM by TomAndPeg
Updated 12-25-2019 at 02:45 PM by TomAndPeg

Update: New Tires -- 9/26/18

The tires on our NewAire were just 4 years old but badly weather checked on the sidewalls. I don't know if such tire deterioration is region-related, but I've seen this problem before in northern climates.

Fortunately, our matchless dealer/broker, Steinbring Motorcoach in Garfield MN, intervened on our behalf by contacting the tire manufacturer, who...

C Series without slides, thinking about it

Posted 09-26-2018 at 03:24 PM by Cherylmcaloo

Hello everyone. My name is Cheryl and I just joined your group and this is my first blog.
My husband and I will be purchasing our first RV which will be an older CSeries, probably not newer than a 2006. Most have sliders. Im having second thoughts and may consider a no slider. Here is why and I would like your feedback:
1. It will be just my husband and I using to camp around Florida and the southeast US for one to three nights at a time. 2. Less repair and maintenance. 3....

Vinyl All the Way

Posted 09-24-2018 at 03:44 PM by CountryFit
Updated 05-28-2019 at 01:44 AM by CountryFit

I had been researching and planning the vinyl flooring upgrade for quite a while. Why am I going with vinyl not wood, engineered wood, or wood laminate? In a nutshell, good vinyl flooring on RV has some advantages over others; the biggest pluses are easy to install and waterproof.

This project is to replace the entire flooring with vinyl, including bathroom and driver feet area, but not to touch the unseen areas under the couches

Before start, let's look at the original...
