Weather Pro Awning

Posted 06-01-2009 at 06:31 AM by woodyk

My weather pro awning quit working and thank God that I read your forums that I better take a large strap wrench to help wind it up if it fails--well it did. To make a long story short I fixed the motor after reading another one of the forums on how to remove the motor. I found out that once you roll the awning up manually you twist the 12 volt wires and break them. I put a large cable tire to secure the awning and put two cable ties on the awnig arm to prevent the piston from pushing the arm out. I removed the screw from the motor and the bolt that held the assy to the awing arm. I then drilled out the three 3/16" aluminum pop rivets and removed the motor assy from the awning. I removed the motor from the housing It was soaken wet. I dried out the motor and cleaned all the connections put it back togeather, checked it out by putting 12v to the wires and it worked great. You all just saved me probably $300. Thanks to you all!!!
