We do have some required information, but rv information is not. Some do not have an rv & registered to ask questions & gain information that will help them choose what will be right for them. Our site is here for sharing information about rv-ing & we do not want to exclude people without rv's by requiring that information.
Having an rv year/make/model in a signature is great when it comes to answering specific questions, so we'll often ask for it if it's not already provided in the post, signature or profile.

I originally registered in 2003 so can't remember if IRV2 had a new member introductory letter or not, but if so, maybe it could be conveyed to new members that if they have an RV or will be getting one later that this information would be of help if it is included in their signature. This would allow for quicker and more accurate answers for any questions they might have.

You old timers here wouldn't have gotten a welcome post/letter. I'm fairly (very) much of a newbie but got one, I believe, from Gary Brink a few hours after registering

New members do get an introductory letter from Madame Boomer upon completing registration
( a recent feature). I'm not sure of it's contents, but she would know if mention is made of customizing one's signature to include RV information.
