We had new carpet applied to our slide. The installers put the new carpet over the old and re-installed the sofa.

The bolts holding the sofa frame to the slide pulled out. The sofa tipped the first time that the sofa bed was opened.

I moved the frame to one side and installed longer and larger lag bolts after drilling appropriate pilot holes. They pulled out as well.

I expected the slide to have probably two layers of 3/4" plywood that should hole effectively.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to attach the sofa frame to the slide?

Hi -

We replaced the Sofa in our slide, by I had mine done by Classic Coach Works in Lakeland. Great people to deal with - give them a call and mention that Gary had his sofa replaced by them on my '01 Ultimate Freedom - talk to Greg if you can # (800) 971-0017

Thanks for the suggestion.

We were in their facility a few months ago and it appears that they are very professional.

Petep

They are that. I have used our sofa a number of times since it was installed and it has been fine. I was thinking that if you put a couple of backing plates between the floor and the washers / lock nuts say 4" X 4" that should hold the back of the sofa in place - I'm not sure, but Winnebago may have done this for the original sofa holes.

If you found Classic Coach to be professional they must have changed considerably since we had work done in 2007.
