Battery voltage was low. Batteries bad, replaced & now step works, but slide out operation is intermittent. ??????

Make sure that EITHER the engine is running, on fast idle, or that the coach is plugged in and the inverter/charger is on to the "Charge" position BEFORE trying to operate the slides. The engine is preferable, but if you are not leaving on a trip, use the inverter/charger option.

Only run the slides on battery alone in an emergency.

My 06 Journey does the same thing. The other slides work great, but the bed room will go out but not in. I kept messing with it until I got it back in. I've had a couple of RV repair guys look at it and they couldn't fix it. At least it's in and we can use the coach, just not the bedroom slide. If you figure it out, let me know.
Bob
