04 Sightseer slide locks.

Does every one use the slide lock straps. Has any one had trouble with slide coming out.

I Don't use them.

2011 Sunova which should be the Sightseer equivalent on the Itasca side. Mine has three slides and PowerGear electric motors and track system. The full wall slide lock failed week one and I had to open it up and disconnect it extend the slide. Then I noticed the rub marks the slide lock made on the walls a couple months later. I haven't used them since. 4.5 years and 39, 000 miles later not so much as a millimeter of unwanted opening. Several RV mechanics have told me they are unnecessary. Now hydraulic slides might be a different story.

On my 2003 sightseer they were remove by the PO and I have put 20000 miles on it and no issues on the slide moving at all until you hit the switch.

Have an 05 Sightseer. Stopped using the strap after I put the slide out with it still attached. Yep it pulled right out (Ouch). Have never had the slide creep out.

~25,000 miles, ~250 campsites. No use, no problem.
