Ok I have a Journey with a solar panel and it does not seem to be charging. The light used to come on at the control panel but doesn't now. What do I need to check to help troubleshoot that is going on.

Thanks.

skysadlo,

I checked mine by disconnecting the batteries and checking for voltage on the battery cables. If you find 12vdc (or a voltage close to 12 vdc - it might be higher), then it is working. Not knowing what year your Journey is, it may be something as simple as a broken wire at the solar cell or at the battery terminals. Not knowing what the wiring diagram shows, I couldn't give you a reason for the light not working - unless the cell is dead or the wiring is defective.

Good Luck

W8RLM - Bob

If the batteries are charged enough the solar panel voltage will not flow thru the little green lite. The wires coming down to the lite carry the solar votage and the other wires carry the battery voltage from the chassis batteries. U can check which is which by covering the solar panel so one pair of wires will have zero votage.
