For 10 years now I have been able to put my Country Coach in my garage with a 12'0" high door by dumping the air from the suspension. Last winter I sold the CC and bought an '06 Adventurer, thinking that the 12'2" listed as overall height would probably fit. Alas, it is about 4 inches too tall and would require some serious modifications or changing tires every time I park it. I'm happy with the Adventurer. I have driven it around 6,000 miles this year and never had to open my tool box! My CC (no cheap shot intended) required a continual fixing to keep it going.

So here is my question: What is the exact height of a Journey with the air suspension dumped? If it will drop at least 4" from the posted 12'2" height, I may hit the market to see if I can find one. Besides, I miss that power and ride of an air suspension. Thanks for any information you may have.

My 03 Journey DL is 11' 10" to the top of the Winegard SK3005 with the air bags inflated. The radio antennas and CB antenna are the only things that have to bend to get into my 12' door.

Here's a link to the 2006 Journey Brochure.
http://www.winnebagoind.com/products...ourney-bro.pdf

In the specifications section it lists the heights as 11' 6" to 11' 8" depending on model. There is a catch however. On the last page there is a disclaimer stating:

The height of each model is measured to the tallest STANDARD feature and is based on the curb weight of the typically equipped unit. The actual height of your vehicle may vary by several inches depending on chassis or equipment variations.

The key words in this disclaimer are "tallest STANDARD feature". That means even if the unit was purchased with the OPTIONAL factory installed satellite dome or other optional equipment mounted to the roof it is not included in the stated height.

My 07 goes down to about 11-7 when dumped. It goes in a 12' door easily. The only thing I worry about is the basement air going bad and having to put a roof top unit on, then its game over.

Winnebago changed the Journey body style in 2008, with increased height/headroom. I think the 2008 height is closer to 12'6".

Journeys through 2007 (mine included) are below 12' in height.

I get mine into my barn with a door clearance of 12' 1" with about 6" to spare, including a new Winegard Trav'ler dish mounted on the roof. I don't have to dump the air to get thru the door.
