My wife and I will be purchasing an '06 to '08 View or Navion, both made by Winnebago. The '05 and '06 models have a 5 cylinder diesel, whereas the '08 has a six. Some people I have talked to claim that the 5 cylinder gets better gas mileage than the six without much of a power penalty.

Anybody have an opinion? Or other distinctions between the '06/'07 vs the '08s that I should be concerned with? A dealer I talked to said that Winnebago made many (up to 50) improvements in '08, but could not tell me what they were or where to find out.

Thanks,

Pete

You can find the brochures here. That might help you find the differences by model year.

Not to disuade the use of this forum but there is an excellent View/Navion group on Yahoo.

View/Navion Group on Yahoo

There is plenty of info on there for you to digest. A quick search will provide you hundreds of comparisons between the two.

I have an 07, and yes it has the I5 diesel which gets on average 1-2 mpg more. I am averaging right at 15.5 mpg with 10,000 miles contributing to that total, including 4000 miles of towing.

Enjoy, the View is a great RV!
