I hear a whinning, buzzing sound when I turn on the hot water when hooked up to city water. Is that something to be concerned about?

Sounds like a check valve that needs to be replaced. But, does it also make the sound when you are disconnected from city water? If it happens in both situations it's most likely a check valve. We had one replaced at a dealer a couple of months ago, and we watched and learned how to replace it ourselves in the future. Good luck.
