This is the first auto level system we have had. I "think" I'm unhappy with the way it levels as it generally extends the jacks to full extension even on a slight incline. If the incline is more than "normal" the front wheels may be lifted on the ground. When leveling manually, the instructions say to raise the front at least 3". I use a level as well as the level on the system. The level system has always agreed with my portable level. So what I am asking is what cues do you have for leveling manually?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

MizzouriMule, I put the jacks down just until they touch the ground. We take a level and place it on the kitchen counter and level front to back first. Once that's set then we spin the level 90° and level from side to side. Most sites are going to be challenging so it's all a matter of luck. I also carry 2 sets of stacker blocks but I learned a valuable lesson about how high not to go! Up to 3 stacker blocks should be the most you need to use.

I pretty much do the same as Driver - put all 4 jacks down until they touch the ground. I used to use a level on the counter as well but once in a while my cabinet doors would still slowly swing closed even thought the level said the coach was level. So now I level up the coach with the bathroom door.

My wife opens the door until it is 90 degrees from the closed position and level front to rear until the door does not move. Then she positions the door at 45 degrees and I level from side to side until it does not move. This seems to be a better leveling method for me.

Just a thought but there is a procedure for resetting the auto leveler. Maybe you need to go through that. Our coach only fails auto leveling if we are on a step incline or if someone is moving around inside while it is leveling. Otherwise it always has done a great job.
