.. I rrecently purchased a 2001 Winnebago Adventurer 32V on a Workhorse chassis. I cannot get 12V to the inverter.
I called Winnebago and they guided me to the fuse panel under the lift up dash panel.
I looked in the owner's manual for the Adventurer and there was no fuse identificstion chart.
I looked in the Workhorse owner's manual and they listed the fuses as "manufacturer" section. Winnebago said the fuse to the inverter was a 25amp. The only 25 amp is a "can circuit breaker". Is this used as a fuse? There is no reset on it. Can it be defective?
For those of you that have had to replace the inverter fuse, can you tell me which one and where it is?
I've had the inverter out of the RV and checked. It is operating properly when connected directly to a battery.
Also, in addition to the TV operating off the switched duplex in the rear of the inverter, can I install a multiple receptical and run the DVD player as well when operating the TV? At this time, I am not using a VCR.
any help will be appreciated .. FrankieJ

... found it. Stuck on the inside of the raised panel, out of view, and not readable from the driver's seat, is a stick on label indicating the fuse in question. If they had placed that indicating stick on on the fuse panel itself, it would have been a cut and dry affair. If you looked in... thanks. FrankieJ

...went to the dealer with the removed inverter. They put it on a test battery and it apparently worked fine. Reinstalled it on the Rv and it kept blowing fuses.
Called Winnebago service and they said that there may be an internal short drawing more than the fused 30 amps. When the dealer connecgted it to the battery, they did not have it fused.
Back to the dealer with the faulty inverter. They replaced it as it was still under the warranty they gave me when I purchased the RV a week ago. Reinstalled the new unit and everything is working properly. I also bought a few electrical connectors to match what was on the inverter and made an extension so it is easier to remove. I also moved it to a space where it would have better ventalization ... as the unit stated .. it should not be in an enclosed area. It gives off heat and that can damage the unit.
If you are in Rhode Island, Arlington Rv, exit 8 off of of I-95. Great people to do business with. They have their short comings and cannot please all the people al the time, but over all, compared to the horror stories I read on this forum, they are tops in customer service.
Like most other dealers, they take care of their own first. I think for the money, Winnebago gives you a good bang for the buck. their on line support with the systems diagrams is a great help too. I'm not sure if other manufacturers offer this type of help.
Luckily, the dealership is less than an hour forom our home. This helps a lot.

It's refreshing to hear good things about a dealer. Too often, we find ourselves reading only bad things as we all tend to describe the faults we find with our rigs and dealers.
I agree with you about the value Winnebago offers. I know there's plenty of other brands of rigs available and thats so folks can all choose what makes them comfortable, but for our Value...I like my Winny too.
