12v lights are too hot and too bright

The overhead light fixtures above our sofa and bed are so bright you can't hardly stand to have them turned on. You could probably cook dinner with the heat they generate. They have a rounded face that matches the fixture and are lightly frosted so I'm wondering if there is a LED equivalent.

I have replaced almost all of my incandesent lights. Those halogen type lights will burn your fingers and draw a lot of current.
