well, just picked up this bad boy today. it started fine and pulled away no prob when i left the POs house and head'd to mine.

got home and shut 'er down. went in for about 10min then came out to go supply it up with the necessities. went to start in and dead. the guy wired in an aux. start switch on the dash that taps the house bat. for starting pwr. that worked and we head'd off. same happened again and jump started to get going.

once home, i discovered the chassis bat. is a 525 cold cranking amp - seem'd small to me. anyone?

also, he has a 12-volt hook'd up for house power. i'm used to having two 6-volts in series for that kind of power. is this small 12-volt correct for house on these models?

thanks,
chris

the switch on the dash is "stock". You should check and find out if the alternator is even charging the engine battery. Maybe the engine battery is too old and wont take a charge.

The single battery for the 12 volt coach items is normal. Some people do replace the battery to 2 6 volt golf cart batteries if they intend to do much boondocking. Of course that is an expensive change if you intend to plug in mostly.

Be sure to check the water in those batteries! The conventional converter will vent the coach battery such that you will need to add water once a month approx. if you leave it plugged in. The converter does not charge the engine starting battery before you ask.

Good Luck
