Just purchased 1997 Winnebago Brave.I can't get the fresh water tank filled.Only one opening.Manuel only says fill the tank, start pump, open all faucets. When a steady stream close.Pump will then come on when faucet opens. If u close city water faucet nothing comes out.Don't know if tank is full. Also why is there a pump switch in bathroom.tank level indicators read empty and the light is red.Need to sterilize tank.

The fresh water tank must be filled before starting the pump. I believe your system has only one fill port on the outside wall.

The pump draws its water from the tank. When hooked up to city water the pump is not needed. The pump is only used when not hooked up such as on the road.

The switch in the bathroom is there so the pump can be turned on and off when using the bathroom on the road or dry camping.

The pump can sometimes be difficult to prime, I always found it easier to keep the valves closed and open briefly to allow compressed air to escape. There is a filter, round clear device on the pump inlet that can become clogged, fairly easy to remove and clean.

You may have two selector switches that are not in the correct position for your water system to function.

With regards to filling the tank ... I believe there is a selector switch somewhere that says "Tank fill" in one position "Supply" in another position. That switch is probably in your water supply bay.

What you are describing is how my coach acts if I leave the selector switch in the incorrect position.

There is also another selector switch that is used when you winterize. That selector switch needs to be in the "Normal" position. If the selector switch is in the other position the pump will draw from a short hose that is intended to be inserted into a gallon of RV anti-freeze. This switch is probably somewhere near your pump.

Thank-u all for your prompt and helpful answers to my fresh water tank problem.Found the freshwater fill hole on right rear of the home.Drain valve under the lavatory sink on a handwritten note.I will now put all this info into action. Will now sanitize system and attach filters so I can drink the water. On first motor home I skipped this and ended up with diarrhea until I figured out what was causing it.So beware new home owners do this first thing.Again thank u and
Ride On
