I think my gasser has the 200 watt inverter. Will this be enough juce to power the front tv, sat receiver and kvh L2 in motion sat? Thinking about installing the L2 for our big trip out west this summer...

Was going to buy a DP, but wife ruled it out...something about feeding our kids and college...hmmm...

Best thing to do is a little research: Look on the rear of the TV, etc for their wattage requirements. Add 'em all up and add another 25% or so to size your inverter. Be aware that inverter manufacturers play marketing games when advertising the capacity of their inverters. The advertised capacity might really be the surge value, and not the capacity for a continuous load.

If you can't get to the rear of the TV easily, either A) look in Best Buy for a similar product and check out the rear for the wattage, or B) try to look up the wattage at the manufacturers web site or C) maybe you still have the owner's manual.

I could be wrong (I once was), but I don't think the L2 needs A/C. It only uses 12V DC. So at least that won't add to the load.

Just looked at my sat rx and it only draws 20w, so if the inverter is currently powering your front tv, it certainly should be able to carry the satellite rx as well. Happy viewing!

I didn't want a DP, but my wife made me buy it....yeah, right!

Thanks tomsm.

I want a dp, but my wife says we should wait and buy the one we really want...not to just buy one for the sake of buying one...

arrghh...I hate logic...it takes the fun out of it...although she is right (again)...
